CGS USA mentorship connects students and early-career professionals with experienced members of the diaspora and wider policy community for time-limited guidance on research, public service, journalism, development, and related fields.
Program principles
- Clear goals, duration, meeting expectations, and boundaries.
- Fair selection criteria and no promise of employment, admission, immigration support, funding, or professional licensure.
- Respect for confidentiality with stated limits for safety and legal obligations.
- No harassment, exploitation, financial solicitation, or undisclosed conflicts.
- Additional safeguards and parental consent if the program ever includes minors; otherwise participation is limited to adults.
